Miner NFTs
TL;DR
- You keep your Miner NFT in your wallet; there's no staking deposit.
- Its active mining power earns a variable share of SQK rewards, which you claim separately.
- Unclaimed rewards stay with the NFT when you transfer it.
Owning a Miner
A Squeek Miner is an NFT with a level and mining power. It earns SQK linked to work recorded by the physical Hamster Miner, rather than measuring wheel activity itself. Owning the NFT lets you claim the rewards assigned to it and, when it's eligible, merge it with another Miner you own.
Your share depends on your Miner's active power compared with everyone else's. More power can increase your share. SQK and rewards explains where the pool comes from and what can limit it.
You can also direct a share of your Miner's rewards to fund SqueekFi projects.

What changes as you use a Miner
| Action |
What it means for you |
| Mint a new Miner |
You receive a Level 1 NFT whose mining power activates later |
| Receive an existing Miner |
You receive its existing level, rewards, power, and cooldown; active power doesn't need to activate again |
| Merge two Miners |
One NFT survives with both Miners' rewards and combined active power; its extra power activates later |
| Claim rewards |
Ready SQK moves to your wallet; you keep the NFT and any tiny unpaid fraction |
| Transfer a Miner |
Its new owner gains the right to claim the rewards you left with it |
Minting and merging schedule power changes that need processing before they take effect. Buying or receiving an NFT doesn't restart those changes or its cooldown. You can still claim rewards that are already ready while a power increase is pending.
